For over 40 years, I’ve been dedicated to transforming the leisure and resort industry. My journey started with humble beginnings as a CEO of a campground in Central Alberta where I grew the membership of that resort from just 5 to 1,500 members. I’ve always believed in the power of long-term investment and vision, which led me to acquire properties I saw potential in, like the Howlin’ Coyote Motorcycle Campground. This campground was initially built for motorcycle enthusiasts, and I saw the opportunity to expand and improve it, turning it into a family-friendly resort where people can relax, socialize and have fun.
One of my proudest accomplishments is the Northern Lights RV Resort in Hamlin, Alberta. When I took over, I focused on creating a space that offers a unique mix of nature and modern amenities. Today, we have 100 serviced sites, cabins, a swimming pool, function halls, and a variety of activities like mini-golf, axe throwing, and live music. It’s incredible to see the resort grow, especially as part of the Coast-to-Coast Resort Network, which has brought international visitors and expanded our reach worldwide, add in number of special events for those visitors or living in the Lakeland Region, and our business keeps growing.
I’ve always been committed to the community. We now host events like the Annual Fishing Derby and Family Day, believing it’s essential to stay connected to those around me. Community Futures SPSL has played a huge role in supporting my projects, helping me expand and improve my resorts. Looking ahead, I’m excited about what’s next—I’ve got a 5-year and 10-year plan in place to keep expanding and offering memorable experiences for people from all over the world.
